Sheep to be flown to Quebec
PA Tauranga A jumbo jet load of sheep being held on a Katikati farm will.be flown to Quebec next week. The 780 Polled Dorset ewe hoggets and 10 rams have been collected from 50 properties throughout New Zealand. Mr J. L. Russell, the New Zealand livestock export manager of Dalgety New Zealand. Ltd. said the sheep were being bought by the Sheep Breeders’ Association and the purchase was underwritten by the Quebec Government.
The sheep were going to a big area close to Quebec City which had no sheep popula'tion but was thought to be suitable for breeding.
