Sir,—So President Reagan wants the neutron bomb. It is a tactical weapon and will make nuclear war a more reasonable military option. It is ideal for knocking out sections of the civilian population who happen to be in, the way. Are people more expendable than build-
ings? It is to be assumed that under A.N.Z.U.S. the neutron bomb will come our way. Is this what New Zealanders want, or is it the wishes of the Minister of Foreign Affairs? It is quite clear that the world is becoming a less secure place as the arms race proliferates. Yet the Ministry of. Defence keeps a low profile in the discussion on weapons capability.
