Warning to motorists
Overnight frosts could make roads on Banks Peninsula icy this morning and motorists are warned to take care.
A spokesman for the Automobile Association (Canterbury) reported heavy snowfalls on most high-level roads yesterday morning. Graders cleared the road at Hilltop but the Summit Road was closed for a brief period before 9 a.m.
Cold conditions could make the roads icy again this morning and motorists should exercise caution, especially at Hillstop and in the eastern bav areas.
