Peace-keeping force

Sir,—The talk that New Zealand may be approached with regard to a contribution towards the proposed United Nations peace-keeping force in the Middle East or elsewhere should be ignored. These socalled peace-keeping forces are made up solely of military

servicemen from the free world countries while servicemen from the communist countries are conspicuous by their absence. The United Nations along with their confederates, Soviet Russia, have been the cause of world unrest since the last war and every corner of the earth has come under their evil spell. Far from supplying our manpower to this alien organisation we should bring our servicemen home from the Far East where in the not too distant future trouble will arise which may commit this country to another Vietnam situation. Furthermore the 25 million dollars saved would be better spent at home on essential amenities such as the renewing of the WellingtonLyttelton ferry. — Yours, etc, L. WESTNEY. May 31, 1981.
