Rape charge laid
PA Gisborne A youth, aged 17, appeared in the District Court at Gisborne yesterday morning after police investigations into a complaint of rape involving a six-year-old girl. The alleged incident occurred late on Sunday at a
small settlement near Gisborne, a police spokesman said. The youth was remanded to appear again today. The police spokesman said the person who had been charged was known to the girl.
