Murder alleged
PA Hamilton A Turangi man made 1 a brief appearance in the District Court at Hamilton, yesterday on,a murder charge. . Sydney Noel Te ‘ Whetu, aged 20, is alleged to have murdered Catherine May Ngawoati at Tokanui on Saturday. He was remanded in cus-
tody to appear in the District Court again today. The police said that Ms Ngawoati, aged 21, of Turangi, died from head injuries she apparently suffered during an incident at the Mangatoatoa marae at Tokanui on Saturday morning. Her body was discovered on Saturday evening.
