Shearing ban plan
PA Dunedin There will be a total ban on shearing in Central Otago from June 1. The ban is a result of a meeting in Alexandra on Monday evening between New Zealand Workers Union representatives, shearing contractors, and farmers, which failed to negotiate a premium payment for the type of sheep shorn in the area.
