Meeting on thefts

Owners of British motdricycles. in the Christchurch area met last evening at Governors Bay to. talk about thefts of their increasingly rare machines.

I In the last three years 95 British motor-cycles had been stolen in Christchurch, and only 22 had been recovered, said a spokesman for the group, Ms Rosemary Green.

The meeting decided, after discussions with Detective Sergeant T. Blumberg, of the Christchurch police, that owners would have to make their motor-cycles more secure.

The owners would also work more closely with the police in providing information.

About 60 people attended the meeting.
