Hospital sale authorised
The Minister of Health (Mr Gair) yesterday authorised the North Canterbury Hospital Board to dispose of the old Essex Maternity Hospital in Einwood which was closed late last year. Mr Gair said the old hospital no longer met the safety requirements of either the Christchurch City Council or the Ministry of Works and Development. Disposal of the land.and buildings will be the responsibility of the Ministry of Works and Development. The Government valuation of the buildings and land is $260,000.
