Hermits counted
PA Tauranga The two hermits of the Ureweras have stood up and been counted.
Census officials had doubts about finding the two men, who live in different parts of the Minginui forest, because they tended to retreat further into the bush when approached.
The census area officer from Rotorua, Mr D. H. Smith, said yesterday that a woman sub-enumerator who knew the two men slightly had gone to talk to them.
After a chat both had cooperated fully in filling in their census forms.
