Merino fetches 401c
Fifteen bales of Merino wether wool from J. R. Todhunter and Sons , (Rakaja Gorge) headed the sale' ■at 401 c. The next best sales ,pf Merino wool were at 370 c. The estate G. Urquhart (Cass) sold 10 bales of fine wether wool at that price and R. S. and W. J. Stevenson (Blenheim) recieved the same price for nine bales of fine wool. In the Halfbred section W. Russell (Lees Valley) was well out in front with 12 bales of fine wool bringing 324 c. Another 10 bales of fine wool from R. J? and R. E. Kerr (Rangiora) brought 289 c. K. Howden (Oxford) sold 10 bales at 287 c and he also had 16 bales of medium wool which realised 281 c; This price was also paid to L. R. Faulkner .(Springfield) for 33 bales of fine wool. For Corriedale woolly
hogget in eight bales Garrymere Farms, Ltd (Rangiora) received 310 c and they sold another 23 bales at 280 c. M. F. Bell (Dunsandel) realised 290 c for eight bales and the Clifton Farming Group (Waiau) sold 17 ables of medium Corriedale at 284 c. Oakley Farm (Oxford) received 2SOc for 11 bales of t h r e e-quarterbred shorn • hogget wool. i Crossbred wool brought. up to- 300 c for- 10. bales of shorn hogget from L. H. Brooker (Maruia). ’A. W. i Waddell (Ashburton) had 14 bales of shorn hogget which , brought 287 c and sales at , 282 c were made by J. Dw Potts (Halswell) for 10 bales , of shorn, hogget and by C. B. j cottrell (Oxford) for 13 ; bales of shorn hogget. j One of the best sales of < second-shear wool was made 1
by P. J. and A. F. C, Mowat (Kaikoura) who realised 275 c , for 10 bales of Coopworth. Ferguson Farms (Ross) realised 272 c for 11 bales of second-shear crossbred. Lightfoot Farm (Rangiora) sold 26 bales of Perendale wool at 284 c and D. W. and B. K. Reily (Ashburton) received 280 c for 12 bales of two-tooth Coopworth. G. R. and C. J. F. Johnson: (Scargill) received 279 c for 12 bales of Border Leicester Corriedale shorn hogget.
