Tinwald ewe fair
It was back to 1979 prices at the Ashburton County fine wool two tooth ewe fair at the Tinwald saleyards yesterday with the top Corriedales just breaking the $3O mark, in contrast to a hear record of $40.25 last year. Top price yesterday went to the Coldstream Estate for 116 at $3l, Last year 285 ewes entered by R. M. Kingsbury brought $40.25. The yarding yesterday was just under 9000 head, about 4000 down on last year, and demand among bidders was above that expected, especiallly for the better offerings. considering the dry conditions. Other top sales included. — Bell Bros 587 at $24 to $25.25; Des G. Chisnall 380 at $25.50 to $28.50; R. M. Kingsbury 1035 at $26 to $27.50; Glenrock Station 182 at $25.90; K. K. Busch 135 at $27; Coldstream Estate 339 at $25 to $3l; G. J. Cairns 103 at $24.50; S. K. and N. R. Hydes 111 at $24.75. P. S. Stewart 80 at $2B; D. A. Earl at $25.90 to $27.20; D. R. Bennett 184 at $24; F. G. Rickard and Son 85 at $26.25; Jas McLaughlin 75 at $24. Halfbreds brought from $l6 to $1725.
