Unemployed school-leavers

The regional superintendent of the department in Christchurch, Mr W. T. Holland,' said the figures could not be applied to numbers who had returned
to -school; The figures were merely. registered totals in each - district office at January 30. . Since then some might have found jobs. If they returned, to school the change to the figures would be picked up at the next month’s count, he Said. At January 30, 809 Christchurch school-leavers had registered as unemployed.
