Industrial problems
Sir. — Many people like myself must be fed up with union strife. Disputes related to work or rewards should be settled between employer and employee without interference from a third party. We must realise we cannot have it both wavs, expecting the fringe benefits of a “free for all” system prevalent in our society, an the other hand demanding the mutual protection associated with socialist societies. It is. time people learned to stand up and fight as individuals instead of being spoon-fed by others and. wasting considerable time and energy on go-slows, walk-outs, disputes, strikes and union meetings. Then perhaps workers and management alike will be able to spend more time on looking after and caring for true dependants such as the disabled and handicapped, the elderly, the sick and of course, most important, our future generation, the., children. — Yours, etc..
