Death from electric shock
A young forestry worker suffered a fatal electric shock in the Balmoral State forest, near Culverden, yesterday morning. He was Donald James Grant aged 23, formerly of Geraldine. Mr Grant had been working at a log stockpile near the Balmoral camp at 8.45 a.m., a Forest Serice spokesman said. He had been moving sprinkler equipment, used to keep the logs moist, when part of the equipment touched an overhead power line. He was killed instantly. Mr Grant had been working at Balmoral for about five years.
