Convincing cycling win
PA Auckland Roger Sumich impressively spearheaded a clean sweep of all titles by the Manukau Club when he convincingly won the Auckland road cycling championships at Karaka on Saturday. Sumich, just back from his fifth European campaign, will now lead the Auckland team at the New Zealand championships and on this
showing he promises to be a top contender.In a three-man sprint for second—some 9min 7s after Sumich had crossed the fin« ishing line — Ron Avery held off Wayne Perkinson and Chris Harding, with lan Richards completing the course about three minutes later. This quintet plus Kevin Rosemergy and Tony Songhurst, will represent Auckland at the New Zealand championships.
