Excursion fare to Italy now
PA Auckland New Zealanders can now buy an excursion air fare ticket to Italy. The Government has given the Italian airline Alitalia permission for excursion flights from Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch to Rome, in concert with Air New Zealand. The fares are effective from yesterday. No prebooking period is required. The route from the three New Zealand airports is by Air New Zealand to either
Hong Kong or Singapore, and then by Alitalia’s thriceweekly service to - Rome from each of those gateway cities. This is reversed on the homecoming trip.
The excursion fares are: One-way $1096, return low season $l7ll, return high season,' $2087. These fares are the same as j excursion flights already available i v tb London, Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, Copenhagen, ■ Zurich, Geneva, and Frankfurt. Alitalia flies DClOs out of Hong Kong, and Boeing 747 s from Singapore. . ;
