Driver suspended
PA Auckland M. J. Stormont has been suspended from driving up to and including September 17 by the stipendiary committee after an inquiry into the breaking of Avalon Apollo in the Hunua Pace at the Franklin Trotting Club meeting at Alexandra Park on Friday. Stormont was charged with causing a check to Ascot - Flyer with resultant interference to Avalon Apollo. An inquiry was opened and adjourned into an incident at the home turn in the Birdie Hanover Handicap. Gretna Hanover broke and fell and Van Tudor’s driver was dislodged from the sulky 4 D. M. Alexander, the driver of Gretna Handver, was admitted to hospital for observation.
