NZPA Sydney The champion four-year-old, Kingston Town, appears to have a mortgage on the rich spring weight-for-age races after his effortless win in the $20,000 Warwick Stakes (1400 m at Randwick on Saturday. It was Kingston Town’s thirteenth successive Sydney win and,took his total prizemoney to $722,940. The gelding, freshened after his unbeaten Brisbane winter campaign, was four wide on . the home turn and at least seven lengths from the lead, But he cruised to the lead in the straight and won by a length under a tight hold from jockey Mah colm Johnston.

The Tommy Smith stable has not yet finalised the spring programme for Kingston Town but is confident he will go through unbeaten.
