Trading picks up
Trading picked up on a mixed Jsew Zealand sharemarket helped by the speculation in N.Z. Petroleum scrip. The oil companj s shares started off the day at 310 c and finished at 400 c, for an overnight gain of 120 c, and a net gain for the week of 220 c. Die® ma + I P u f’ n d °.’ the shares reflected the extreme shortage of scrip. On the mdustiial boards, P.D.L. gained a further 5c on its continuing good periormance as announced at the annual meeting, and Odlins firmed 2c to 8 - c on ffs prospects in the new financial year. Crown Consolidated continued to ease after its small profit increase and the announcement of a cash issue. ihL Group rose 2c to 82c on its higher profit and dividend result.
