Children win trip to Wellington
Two Christchurch children will have a trip to Wellington after winning a competition in the “Have a Go” day at Queen Elizabeth II Park on Saturday. Joanne Pratt, of New Brighton Road, won the eight to ten-year section, and Nicholas Dawson, of Rossmore Terrace, Cashmere, won the 11 to 13-year group. To win they had to write five reasons why they wanted the trip to Wellington. Their day trip to Wellington will include morning tea with the Mayor (Mr E. M. C. Fowler), a tour of the Beehive, lunch, a ride on the cable car and a visit to Wellington Zoo-. They will be accompanied by an air New Zealand public relations officer.
