Sheep for film

Sir, — It is encouraging to note (Reporter’s. Diary, August 6) that a number of unemployed sheep down around Ashburton may here be recruited as “extras” in a series of commercials for Japanese television beginning soon. It is rumoured, I believe that Mr Talbot, National Member for Ashburton, is arranging to be photographed . shaking hooves with the successful, selected and well-groomed sheep, after their first long day’s march, as an indication he, and the present Government in power, are actively helping to reduce the high unemployment number in this area. — Yours, etc., NESSIE VIAL,. Ashburton. August 6, 1980.
