Iranian attitudes
Sir, — Yet another example of the sad irony which exists in the regrettable juxtaposition of. Eastern and Western values, was reported in "The Press” of August 7. How is it that Iranians, people who seem to regard, the right to live as no right at all, when held in American prisons (because they broke American laws), can use a counter-attack strategy (the hunger-strike) which relies for its effectiveness on a regard for the sanctity of life?
