Sales tax battle
PA Wellington The Recording- Industry Association yesterday vowed to continue its battle to have sales tax oh records reduced. ’ “We will not relent in our struggle to achieve a more equitable application of sales tax,” said the association’s executive director (Mr F. W. Smith) yesterday. “We are greatly perturbed by the Government’s failure in the Budget to implement the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council’s enlightened recommendation to abolish immediately, or significantly reduce, sales tax on records,” Mr Smith said. i
