Wet June in Lincoln district
June in the Lincoln district was wetter than usual, with an aboveaverage amount of sunshine, according to meteorological observations made at Lincoln College. The sun shone for 108 hours during the month and 79.3 mm of rain was recorded, bringing the total rainfall for the year so far to 430.2 mm. Frosts were recorded on 20 days, with a minimum temperature of minus 4.Bdeg on June 27. The maximum temperature for the month was 15.9 deg on June 10.
So u t h-westerly, cold fronts brought rain and cloudy skies for the first half of the month. The second half was 'dominated by high-pressure systems bringing clear, frosty weather.
