Protests by Japanese
NZPA-Reuter Tokyo Japanese farmers have launched protests against Government policies that encourage food imports from the United States, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. Zenchu, the national association representing farmers, held demonstrations in Tokyo demanding higher rice price subsidies by the Government and curbs on cheap food imports. About 8000 members marched peacefully past Government buildings and the United States Embassy.
