Urgent hearing
PA Auckland The Iron Baron demarcation dispute, which has kept the ship in port for three weeks, will have an urgent hearing by the. Waterfront Industry Tribunal on Tuesday. The tribunal has power under the Waterfront Industry Act, 1976, to ratify terms of work defined in the act.
The dispute concerns who should cut the tombings which hold steel cargoes firm against a ship’s side. Watersiders and boilermakers claim the work.
