Two die in house fire
Fire safety officers are still investigating the cause of the fatal fire in a house at 19 Baretta Street, Somerfield, at 3.45 a.m. yesterday. Firemen recovered the bodies of two persons from the gutted house. They were JAMES TREVOR MORGAN, aged 66; and MAY CURWOOD, aged 68.
The one-storey wooden house was burning fiercely when neighbours raised the alarm. The firemen had to wear breathing apparatus.
Appliances from the Central and Spreydon fire stations answered the call.
