Pigs ‘saved’ in mercy mission

PA Dunedin Four little pigs were saved from an imaginary “wolf,” a Dunedin court heard. A Dunedin youth, aged 16, who believed that some pigs were being mistreated took it on himself to take four pigs from a local pigsty. The youth appeared in the Children and Young Persons’ Court on a charge of breaking and entering a pigsty on the outskirts of Dunedin. But to him it was a mission of mercy — a mission which took three trips to complete. Judge Ross was told that the youth thought the pigs were being neglected, and that he could look after them better. The four bewildered pigs have since been recovered and returned. The youth, who admitted the charge, was remanded to May 23.
