Competition in an open junior table tennis tournament, held at the Selwyn Street hall, resulted:— Under 21 Boys’ singles: S. Cairns beat J. Richards, 25-23, 21-16. Doubles: Richards and Cairns beat M. Prisk and A. Marriott, 14-21. 21-14, 21-5. Girls’ singles: J. Cotter beat H. Thompson, 21-9, 21-9. Doubles: Cotter and J. Rhind beat N. Havler and G. Prisk, 21-7, 17-21, 21-13. Under 17 Boys’ singles: Prisk beat L. White, 21-12. 21-17. Doubles: Prisk and White beat Marriott and W. King. 21-12, 21-19. Girls’
singles: D. Tipper beat M. Vanderaa. 17-21, 21-12, 22-20. Doubles: Tipper and Vanderaa beat Cotter and Rhind, 21-12, 16-21, 22-20. Under 14 Boys’ singles: L. Clark beat G. McCarroll, 21-15, 21-15. Doubles: S. Rhind .and T. Hanrahan beat Clark and McCarroll, 21-17, 21-14. Girls’ singles: S. Mayes beat D. Beard, 21-8, 21-6. Doubles: Mayes and Beard beat C. Lowe and S. Youngman, 21-16, 21-16. Under 12 Boys’ singles: N. Law .beat J. Hepi. 21-19. 21-15. Doubles: O. Kearney- and Law beat A. Callaghan and C. Manson, 21-13, 17-21, 21-17.
