Aranui leads basketball
United Service Aranui gained a two-point lead in the Guthrey Travel men’s basketball competition after the fourth round of matches at Cowles Stadium. In a kev match,' Aranui beat Checkers. '56-46. Both teams were without their two national representatives and the match seldom rose above mediocrity. Jaks-High School Old Boys comfortably accounted for Mai; rehau, 82-64, and Inns of Pacific University overcame Continental Caterers Rangiora, 76-61. Rangiora missed John Hili.
