Epilepsy appeal
The Christchurch branch of the New Zealand Epilepsy Association will hold its annual street appeal on Friday. The money raised would be used for social work and for public education, said the association’s Dominion president (Mrs Dorothy Gowans). On the last Wednesday in each month an ' education and advisory centre for epileptics and those associated with epilepsy would open in the Arts Centre. The Christchurch branch had about 200 members, but it served anybody who needed help or counselling, said Mrs Gowans. About one in every 200 . people would'suffer from some form of epilepsy at some stage of their lives.- • ■■ .F : ,//•- -
