Advts not cancelled in time
Advertisements that wire booked and cancelled too late by the Broadcasting Corporation with private radio stations have cost the corporation several thousand dollars. The advertising spots were booked with private radio stations at Auckland, Wellington. and Christchurch as part of a promotion campaign for the change-over to Television New Zealand. The station manager of Radio Avon (Mr M. Ballantyne) said yesterday that the cancellations were made after the allowed deadline and the corporation would still have to pay for them. The corporation booked 22 advertising spots for February 15 and 16 on Radio Hauraki. The cost of the booking was $1095. : < Mr Ballantyne said that a similar amount was involved in the Radio Avon contract.
