Walter Peak sold
PA Invercargill Walter Peak station, on the shores of Lake Wakatipu, . has been sold for more than $1 million to a North Island fanner. Mr John Hargest, who. bought the property from the Christchurch-based firm of Reid Development. Ltd. will take possession on Mav 16. R e’i d Development, which took over Walter
Peak eight years ago, will retain the tourist activities of the station. Mr Hargest, who will live at Kelvin Heights, near Queenstown, plans to increase sheep numbers and improve fencing, according to the station manager, Mr P. Holder. The sale of Walter Peak follows that of the West Otago run, Hukarere, which was bought for $999,000.
