Bombers blown up
NZPA-Reuter Bayonne Two . suspected French Basque, militants have been blown up in Bayonne, apparently while planting a bomb under the car of a local-gov-ernment official, the police have said.
The blast destroyed the car, belonging to the wife of the sub-prefect of the Py-renees-Atlantiques department. . •
Another ' vehicle badly damaged in the explosion
contained a pistol, ammunition, and propaganda leaflets for a French Basque organ? isation called Ibaretarak (the Northern Basques,) police said. ■
French r identity papers found in the vehicle were believed to have, belonged to one of the dead men. Detectives yesterday combed the country for a third man seen running away from the scene of the explosion. *
