Salmonella outbreak
PA Wellington Medical officers of health have confirmed 39 cases of salmonella (food poisoning) in the Hutt Valley this month. The total has risen by six in the last two days. Another 17 people, students at the Central Institute of Technology in Trentham, are suffering from food-poi-soning but it is not known yet whether it is salmonella. Hundreds of other Hutt Valleypeople are being tested. The Health Department said it had not yet found the source of the salmonella.
