Street litter

Sir, — As a native of Christchurch at present living in Adelaide, I feel the remarks of Mrs E. Mclnerney of South Australia (February 19) need replying to. She makes a valid point that Coca-Cola are actively involved in a benevolent role in South Australia. However, she possesses a rather narrow-minded opinion regarding the sister city role which Adelaide and Christchurch. share. Many Adelaide people who have visited New Zealand have expressed to me their delight with the character of Christchurch — a view shared by the Premier of South Australia, Mr David Tonkin, who combined a holiday with trade talks in Christchurch recently. Mrs Mclnerney would do well to peruse some of the streets of Adelaide regarding litter although it is one of the cleanest cities in Australia. — Yours, etc., DAVID McNABB. February 21, 1980.
