Treatment of children

Sir. — In reply to V. F. Wilkinson’s question (December 24) in regard to my twin brotner and I being bashed on our left hands to “cure” us from the crime of being left-handers as to whether this happened in New Zealand. No. It happened in Aberdeen, Scotland. I have a daughter, aged 17, and a son of 16. Both were born in New Zealand, and have enjoyed their schooling here, and both have earned their U.E. I wrote in anger and apologise for the misunderstanding. — Yours, etc.. JAMES J. DUNCAN, December 24, 1979.
