Little interest in auction
A house and shop at the corner of Papanui Road and Perry Street was passed in at $18,500 when offered at auction yesterday. The Government valuation (1979) of the property is $21,000. Only four persons were present at the auction, conducted by M, B. Cook and Company. There were two bidders, including the auctioneer, and the property was passed in after only one offer. Bidding began at $lB,OOO.

The shop had been under i lease for some time, but the i lease had lapsed after the i property had caught fire. The . area had since been rezoned I Residential 1, and a new business could be started in I the shop only with the spe- [ cial permission of the Christ- , church City Council, Mr McClelland said.
