Butter plant is almost ready

A start was • made on the plant in Maj. lasi year, for Anchor Foods. Ltd. the New Zealand Dairy Board's whollyowned subsidiary in Britain. It is designed to condition the butter and put it through re-working
machines that blend the product, and package it under the Anchor brand .. name for sale throughout the United Kingdom. The cold store, which will hold 10,000 tonnes, is now operating, and a start has also been made on commissioning machines. The managing director of Anchor (Mr Murray Gould) said the first butter was in store and had been brought down tp the correct temperature. A gradual build-up in stocks had begun, and production would begin towards the end of September. The plant will have a maximum output of 1000 tonnes a week.
