Travellers warned
PA Wellington The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has warned New Zealanders against overland travel through Afghanistan. The Ministry said it believed the border between Iran and Afghanistan had been dosed and that travel was difficult along the route into Afghanistan from the Pakistan border.
New Zealanders travelling into the area did so at their own risk. It would be ex. tremely difficult to provide any diplomatic assistance because New Zealand had n<i resident representation in Afghanistan, the Ministry said.
