Grant to S.O.S.
Sir,—June Symons (August 18)iaccuses S.O.S. of not pro-
viding an unbiased counselling service, i.e. the “ ‘counselling service’ they provide is heavily weighted against those who wish to continue their pregnancy.” This is incorrect and S.O.S. counsellors would like to know if Ms Symons has any evidence to support such an accusation? S.O.S. recognises that deciding whether to continue a pregnancy or not, very often represents a crisis point in a woman’s life. Accordingly, we provide an unbiased atmosphere in which a woman may make a decision based on a full knowledge of all the alternatives. We also provide all the facts regarding termination procedures, pre and post-operative care, and possible complications arising from abortions. Because S.O.S. believes, that whether or not to continue a pregnancy should be the woman’s choice, does not mean that we believe that all pregnancies should be terminated.—Yours, etc., LYN PEACH. For the S.O.S. Collective. August 18, 1979.
