Up to four suspected

PA Wellington The police now believe that up to four persons were involved in the killing of Mr G. E. Engelbrecht, aged 94, on July 6. “We are working on a promising lead at the moment,” said Detective Inspector C. W. Wilson, who heads the inquiry. Identikit pictures of one of the suspects have been widely circulated. He is described as a Maori or Pacific islander, about 1.7 m to I.Bm tall, with thick black hair, clean shaven, and of big build. He was seen leaping over Mr Engelbrecht’s fence on the evening of the killing and had been seen loitering near the property during the two previous weeks. Mr Wilson said he believed all the persons the police were looking for were still in the area.
