Fuel stocks down
PA Wellington Petrol stocks stood at 54 days supply, the Minister of Energy (Mr Birch) told Parliament yesterday. This was less than the 57 days planned for, he said, in answer to a question by the Opposition spokesman on energy, Mr F. MacD. Colman (Petone). Petrol stocks had to be built up at this time of the year to compensate for the heavy demand later in the year and early next year.
