Jets win ice hockey
The Jets beat the Rockets, 7-3, in a close battle between Canterbury’s two leading ice hockey teams at the Centaurus ice rink on Sunday. The Jets led, 2-1, at half-time and increased the lead with some fine play from its experienced team members. Its goalscorers were W. Curry 3, T. Beaumont 2, P. Barlass and K. Webb one each, with assists from Webb and M. Sedan (two each) and G. Beaumont.
The Rockets’ goals were scored by L. Parkes 2, and K. Maxwell, with assists from D. Brown and D. Williamson.
