Four tries to Taranaki
PA New Plymouth. A newcomer on the wing this season, Brett Gould collected two of Taranaki’s four tries as it swept to a 25-15 win over King Country in a representative rugby match at Te Kuiti yesterday. For three parts of the match, Taranaki was in the ascendancy although its 17-3 Jead at halftime did not truly '-reflect King Country’s stern opposition. But Taranaki took a firm grip in the early stages of the second half, won the ball at will from lineouts and scrums and threatened to split King Country. However. it managed only another eight points in that time and led 25-3. In an exciting finale King Country blitzed Taranaki to score two converted tries. Scorejs were:— Taranaki: tries Gould (2), Loveridge, Graham Mourie; penalty goals, Davidson (2), dropped goal Quin. King Country: Tries Ngawati. Adi am; conversions Lang (2): penalty goal Lang. Referee: Mr D. A. Robinson.
