Walker, Dixon beaten
NZPA Washington The New Zealanders, John Walker and Rod Dixon, finished fourth and fifth in the Brooks Meet mile at Philadelphia on Saturday. Walker was timed at 3:55.0, a fifth of a second faster than he clocked a week ago in New Jersey. He is now running his best times in two years as he tunes up for a European
campaign. But Walker is still short of hard racing and is being outkicked by more seasoned runners. Eamonn Coghlan, of Ireland, and the Americans, Steve Scott and Craig Masback, broke from the bunch on the gun lap yesterday and Walker and Dixon could not go with them. Coghlan breezed past the Americans in the stretch to win in 3:52.9.
