Indoor Bowls Carter narrowly wins bowls
Keith Carter narrowly won the final of the Rothmans indoor bowls competition at Kearneys Road during the week-end after a thrilling match with Bev. Tomlinson.
Mrs Tomlinson held labt bowl, but was unable to take the shot off Carter and lost 7-6. It was a close match, with the scores tied 5-5 after three ends, 5-5 after six ends, and 6-6 after eight ends. Carter had a single on the tenth end to win the final and go on to t lie zone elimination at Pleasant Point on July 21. Mrs Tomlinson also had a grand tussle in the semi-final, scoring three on the last end to beat George Forrester, 9-6 Carter played the winning shot in his semi-final with the last bowl after Peter Anngow had a momentary lead after his four on. the second-last end.
