Williamson wins again
The experienced combination of Aif Williamson and Vai McLeod proved too si rone for Lee Roberts and Dulcie Marsh in the final of the Osborne trophy Indoor bowls pairs event at the Kearney's Road hall. Although Roberts and Marsh appeared unlucky at times, thev could manage only singles on four of the 11 ends and were beaten, 15-4. Williamson had previously been successful In the event in 1963 and 1967. Of the 266 pair, entered in the event. 90 qualified for post-section plaj. Williamson won his semifinal 10-8 against Shirley Heckei, but lie had to fight hard to win, while Roberts was In top loim to beat Llovd Bellis 8-3 in the other semi-final.
