Fake-stamp charges
PA , Auckland Two brothers have appeared in the Magistrate’s Court on the North Shore on charges related to the possession and selling of counterfeit stamps. Francis Kenneth Bayne, aged 53, a stamp dealer, appeared before Mr W. J. Mitchell, S.M., on six charges of possessing and using and selling counterfeit New Zealand 1958 Queen Elizabeth II 2d stamps by overprinting
1953 l id stamps. It is'alleged the offences took place in Auckland between April and June this year. William Wallace Bayne, aged 60, a builder, was charged with selling six counterfeit New Zealand 1958 Queen Elizabeth II 2d stamps to a company in Rotorua, on Maj' 31. Both were remanded without plea to June 25 on bail of $5OO and sureties of the same sum.
